Culture of half kneeling

Why we half kneel? Half kneeling is actually a part of traditional Japanese culture. Here, at Watami, we try to exude a traditional Japanese atmosphere by doing so in our restaurants.

Apart from that, we half kneel so as to look at our customer on the same eye level and not look down at them (as it seems,when you stand up and talking to a sitting customer). Its more comfortable isn’t it?
